Trailer Hitch Step Install

I couldn't find a thread explaining or showing how to install a trailer hitch and hitch mount step ,on my 09' electric club car precedent with rear seat and plastic foot rest, using bolt on, readily available parts so this is what I did. I found a hitch that bolts onto the frame using existing mount holes. I added a 12" Extension Receiver, and a sturdy Aluminum Hitch Mount Step. The installed parts positioned the step exactly where I wanted it, but there was to much flex when stepping on the step, so I picked up a piece of 1/8" X 3/4" flat bar aluminum stock at my local hardware store and added a support strap to go under the 12" Extension. The handmade strap was easy to bend using just a hammer and the edge of my work bench, then drilled a hole in each end of the strap and used the existing bolt holes in the foot rest support to mount.

The installed step looks great, and is very sturdy. At a full 300 lbs., I can jump up and down on the step without flexing any of the hitch parts.

Nice! I want to do something just like that for my 02' DS so I can tow my trailer around the property. Where did you purchase the receiver and extension from?

I found everything on Amazon except the strip of aluminum stock that was from my local hardware store.

Just an update. I found a GTW hitch receiver and installed with a 14" extension. Worked out great. Now I can haul my 5x10 trailer around the property. Will add a support bracket for the extension but for now it works fine with no evident flex when under load. Thanks DALESATTER for the direction.
