How can I find A1, A2, S1 ans S2 on a disassembled motor?

OK guys, I got brave and dismounted the electric motor from the rearend in an attempt to read the terminal markings on the outside of the motor case...no such luck - Now that I have it off and can observe the guts, can anybody tell me how to determine "what's what" while it's apart?

Terminals that go to the brushes for the armature are A1 and A2. That makes the two that go to the field winding S1 and S2. If we knew what kind of cart you are working on it would hel. Pics of the housing will also help the experts guide you in the right direction.

Thanks - pulled this pic from an earlier thread of mine that got no response - I am anewbie so I have a lot to learn - hope somebody out there can help with identifying the terminals in the pic -

1984 Club Car - motor model number is 1012190 - too rusty to read terminals

THX, everybody!Attachment 29344

Did you find out anything about this motor? I have the same problem and the exact same motor on a 1984 ClubCar.
Thanks!

The two posts near the end of the Motor are A1 and A2 and the other ones are S1 and S2.

It makes no difference on the "A" posts which one is A1 or A2, same with the "S" posts.

The two on the Aluminum End cap are the A terminals. The ones on the steel motor case are the S terminals.
Looking at the End cap, the terminals on your left (which would be toward the rear of the cart) should be A1/S1. Terminals on the right should be A2/S2.
