Part number for 98 EZGO F/R switch...round right behind seat?

I have a friend who has an 98 ezgo that has the weird style f/r switch that they only used for a year or 2 that is a sealed unit right behind lever. I cant find the part number or part anywhere ive looked...does anyone have the correct part number for that switch? It is NOT the big standard one that has bar in between and sits off to the side of the cart

You are describing the DCS F&R , often described as a silver hockey puck.
This unit is no longer available. It can be replaced with a later model rocker F&R like found in the PDS model or CC IQ with just a simple wire change and diode added. See diagram below

Thanks...what type of diode would I need? Also I believe the PDS switch has 3 terminals on the rear of it, do you know which terminals match to which wires?

You can use a DPDT/Center Off (such as the CC type) without a diode.

Using the terminal numbers on the attached diagram.

Jumper (hard wire) 3 to 4.

Jumper (hard wire) 1 to 5

Connect Red/Orange wire from Run/Tow switch and Red wire to Pin-9 on controller to 3 & 4

Connect Yellow wire to keyswitch to either 1 or 5

If terminal the Common contact closes with 2 when in R, connect Orange wire to Pin-4 on controller to 2.

Note, the Common contact typically closes with the terminal under the opposite end of the switch from the side the toggle leans toward. It is best to check with Ohmmeter to be sure.
