TXT 36 v state of charge meter
I've just started to notice that my state of charge meter is doing some funny things, when I use the cart on the course and when I return the state of charge is showing about half charge on the meter , but after a full charge the meter still show half charge , but when I disconnect and reconnect the power wire it then shows full charge , not sure if there is a problem or not.
Can any shed some light on this or is it some thing to be worried about or not. |
Re: TXT 36 v state of charge meter
Check the carts battery voltage with a meter when the state of charge shows half charge. You may have a problem with the batteries, charger or the state of charge indicator. Is the meter one with the lights or the pointer? More information would help.

Re: TXT 36 v state of charge meter
Not sure what the voltage is after a round of golf , but is about 38-40 volts charged. Also I've noticed that the batteries are using a lot of water as well.
I'll check next time I go out and just before I recharge. |
Re: TXT 36 v state of charge meter
Took the cart out for a round , the state of charge showed full charge at the start, then on my return the state of charge showed 1/2 - 3/4 , I measured the voltage (37VDC) I then disconnected and reconnected the meter and it then went back up to full.
Am I going crazy??? Can some one explain to me is there any thing special about a state of charge meter. I just took it as it measures the voltage of the batteries and displayed the LED to indicate the voltage. |
Re: TXT 36 v state of charge meter
if its a factory style curtis led bar soc meter, i believe you you should disconnect it and reconnect with batteries fully charged.

Re: TXT 36 v state of charge meter
That particular meter resets its self each time you recharge...... it also resets itself to full every time you disconnect it & reconnect. Using lots of water, sudden low readings ..... you may be having a battery problem. Grab a handheld DVM and see what all the batteries read 12 hours after a charge. Post the readings here.

Thanks for that, I could have a battery problem but the cart isn't showing a change in performance but then again the batteries are stamped A8 = Jan 2008 |

Re: TXT 36 v state of charge meter
08 batts ! You are running on borrowed time , those batts r prob. On there end of life cycle , however those led type meters are not very accurate
Do as Scotty says measure batts after 12 hr off of charger and post |
Re: TXT 36 v state of charge meter
I measured the batteries off the the charger 39.7 VDC but after about 5 mins they had dropped to 37.2 VCD .
Also after about a little more than a 12hrs on the charger , it was indicating 80% charged.(Delta Q charger) |
