07 precedent brake cables wrong size?

Ok, really confused about these precedent brake cables.

I see some websites that sell precedent brake cables for 04-07's, then a different cable for 08+.

There is only 1/8" difference in length in the 2 cables. I asked David and he said there is old style and new style, and he can't sell the old style.

Now i see websites that say precedent brake cables 04+ ???

At first i thought only 1/8" difference, should still work. Today i tried the new style on a 07, and it is not right. The passenger side will not lock up olay skid if i mash on them. The driver side stops before the passenger side.

Brand new shoes and drums, adjusted per manual, so it has to be the cable.

Anyone have any info on whats what with the new style? Does one size fit all?

They key to it is to make sure you have matching cables. Either 2 old style, or 2 new style. I can't get the old style ones from Club Car anymore.

Dave, i do have "matching" cables, both new style. But the passenger side will not move enough to brke that side of the cart. Its almost like that cable is too long, but there is only 1/8" difference in new style and old style cables.

I will try replacing with an old style, and see what the 1?8" does for me.

Thanks

You've got a brake issue or an improper adjustment. Check the sliders on the bottoms of the brake mechanisms to make sure they're free and make sure your equalizer isn't tightened up too tight. If it's too tight, the adjuster can't retract.
