Fuel ratio for 78 Harley Davidson 3 Wheeler?
 

Hello all! New to this forum, I'm very glad i found it because i ended up buying a 78 Harley golf cart and i know I'll need future information! But for now could some one please tell me the correct fuel/oil ratio for this 2 stroke engine??? I can't seem to find it anywhere. Also if anyone knows the exact inline fuel filter needed could you post a link?

Welcome to BGW, This is were you get all of life's problems solved, at least the ones involving your cart. Your fuel mix ratio is 85:1 that's 1 1/2 OZ per US gal of gas.:thumbup:

The fuel filters are not anything special. Any inline filter with 1/4" fittings should work fine.

Most vendors sell a tune up kit that has air and fuel filters, spark plug, and points. The points that come in those kits are garbage but the rest seems decent for the money. I usually buy those and throw away the points. Standard Ignition Blue Streak is the only brand that has not let me down yet. DR2240 is the part number. They fit Chev inline engines so they are not too hard to find.

Excellent advise from 73eldo, I to run the blue Streak points in my cart. Most of the points that come in those tune up kits, are difficult to install because the coil wire screw is in the way. You can reverse the screw, but its still very tight in the fan housing itself. And as far as the fuel filter, the ones that come in those tune up kits work just fine.

The other thing about those cheap ones is you can just look at them and see that the contacts don't hit squarely or constantly. The pivots are not real good either, I have seen em stick and bind up.

Can you tell me the exact 2 stroke oil you use in your HD golf cart at 1.5 oz per gallon? Thank you
