G14 Engine Swap

Looking for ideas on what to put in my yamaha G14. Vegas carts doesnt make a kit to put the 625 in there. What have you all done as far as swaps. We use the car to push my racecar at the dragstrip. Looking for a power increase over the stock motor with no governor. Thanks

Vegascarts does do one for their DIY VC 460. I have been racing around in mine since 2014

The other way is buy a honda 390 or some 420 chinese clone and use their install kit. Or can one of your friends involved with your drag car do it ?

How detailed are the directions with the DIY kit.

You can see for yourself on the Vegascarts site. They have the DIY VC 460 assembly guide listed in the manuals and instruction section. Also there are tons of videos on you tube on assembling 390-460 clones.

Save yourself some headaches buy the Vegas install kit and a 440 duromax or a 420 predator or Lifan my 2cents
Or a Vanguard if you don’t mind lifting it 4inchs

Re: G14 Engine Swap

The diy instruction in my opinion are very lacking.so much so I called them when I assembled one.i was asking for ring gap specs, rod bolt torque specs, bearing clearances.i got told its just a lawn mower engine specs aren't that important.however that was a couple years ago and maybe they have improved. Also they still are not very hard to assemble.even if you had questions you could ask on here.

The instructions dont look too bad. Ring gap would be ni e to know.
