Primary Clutch Removal

I've got a 2001 Club Car DS and doing the proformance clutch upgrade. I've taken the driven clutch off with no problem, however, the snap ring came off without compress the spring and it will not de-coil to remove the coil and replace. Is this an issue or am i missing something?

Also on the primary clutch, i can't get the outer nut off to remove that clutch to change the sping inside that one. Any suggestions on how to get that nut off and hold the clutch from spinning? Is the bolt opposite threaded by chance?

I'm new here and have done many upgrades and maintenance reading these forums from all you guys and appreciate all the posts and knowledge

i beleive its left handed thread and after you get bolt off you need a puller to get clutch off ......................its not your normal puller its made just to pop clutch off.................................8)

Stuff some rope down the plug hole to keep engine from turning.

I have a 1/2 inch impact, i guess i'll just have to man up and stick it to it! lol Are you supposed to use graghite inside those to keep them running smooth?
