Checking batteries

Judt bought a 2015 CP

Original batteries

How can I tell if they are good?

They hold a charge, and drive around the neighborhood
But I dont want to go 7 miles each way until I know they can make it

Re: Checking batteries

Without hooking them to a machine and load testing them, the only thing you can do is check the SG and the SOC 12 hours after a completed charge. If you have all green or good SG and the voltage is 50.9 or higher, then just go by your amp-hour rating and drive them for a test run....

Ok thanks

To check the voltage I just check the 2 leads hanging in the rear off the batteries right?

Pack Voltage is measured at the Main Pos (Red wire going to the Solenoid) and the Main Neg (Black wire going to the back of the cart). They will be the first cable on one side (Red) and the last cable on the other side (Black).

There 2014, but holding a full charge at 50.2

I should probably just replace them right ?

I would not. Holding that good of voltage I would get all the bang out of my bucks....

1 Attachment(s)
50.2 volts fully charged is about 84% state of charge ... which is kind of low for a fully charged pack.

I would suggest giving your cart a full charge, disconnect the charger and let the battery voltage stabilize for 12 to 24 hours and then take the fully charged, stabilized voltage of each battery. Compare the voltages to the attached chart to see if all the batteries are weak or if you have one or two weak batteries.

Report back with the individual voltages and we can give you a better recommendation on how to proceed.
