secondary clutch

I bought a secondary clutch kit for my g1, it came with a locking nut instead of a castle nut with the cotter pin, i cant use a pin on the locking, would this locking work ok for it? Thanks.

My secondary has a locking nut on it instead of the castle nut and I was able to put a cotter pin in mine.
