82 Harley wont go after warmed up
My 82 has Been running strong for 2 summers now but lately I’ve been having issues. I start it from cold, no problem with the choke. When i rip around for a 20 - 30 mins and the park it, i go to start it up again and it wont go. The starter turns over and over, but not firing. I smell gas and it seems to be flooding. I let is sit for a couple hours and then it goes again..?
Any ideas? Is it my ignition coil? Or carburetor? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I did a muffler bonfire not that long ago (roughly 25-30 hours of run time since) and it seems to be pretty good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Update: i removed and rebuilt the carb. Everything was clean and found zero issues. Spark plug fine, firing until warm then it struggles.
Seems to struggle more in reverse. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

What's compression look like cold vrs warm? Air leaks? I know you said you burned out the muffler but just take off after it's boggy and try it again. I put new coils on my motorcycle this summer. Ran great for a few blocks. instead of just replacing the coils I ordered parts literally from all over the world to replace no longer available parts. Long story short I wasted $350 when I could have just warrantied out the coil. I missed the warranty period and had to buy another new coil.
30 hrs is quite a bit of time on a 2 stroke. |

Check the condition of your fan. It sound like you could be overheating.

Ignition condensor fault has been known to cause running problems.

If you replace the coil make sure you get an internally resisted one per the sticky on top of the forum. |
