another Turf Rider IV project
hi,
I too just found a early 60's TR IV 4 wheeler that was too good of a deal to pass up-$100. I'm planning to do a gas conversion on it since I'm more comfortable with engines vs motors. The front suspension is fairly crude and not something that would inspire confidence above 10mph, I'm looking at maybe something like the Yamaha lower arms and spindles for a conversion, plus it would allow me to do disc brakes as well. Has anyone tried this on a non-Yamaha cart before ? thanks ! Ron |

Ron,
is there a big difference in the 50's turf rider to the 60's turf rider? |

I picked up a front suspension-control arms, knuckle/spindle and brakes-from a Honda TRX400EX, it looks like I can make it work with a subframe that bolts to the existing frame structure. I'm going to try to register it before going too far to make sure I can get a plate for it. |

hbsailor, did you ever perform the electric to gas conversion?
I bought and will soon retrieve a Turf Rider IV and am very interested in all conversion / restoration efforts. Thank you. |
