1984 clubcar ds not starting.
 

I have a 1984 gas clubcar ds. I just finished a lift kit on it and went to take it for a ride and it won't start. The motor doesn't turn over at all. All I hear is the click of the throttle. I can feel the solenoid clicking. I currently have a charger on the battery but I am skeptical that it could be that because my lights work. I am getting voltage to everything. Is there anything else I can check or that or could be. Thanks for any advice.

I don’t know about a 1984 with the kf82 so maybe take this with a grain of salt

But I know on the newer style with the FE290 the ground wire from the generator runs to the frame rail right above the starter gen. It’s pretty short and when you do a lift kit it drops the engine lower and can break that ground strap off the frame above it.

Worth a quick check anyway. If that’s not it, then need to verify power is making its way to the starter when you press the pedal and verify the ground wire on the S/G as well

Just checked and your right it snapped off so I will fix that and hope it starts up again thankyou.

Should be good to go once the starter has a ground connection:thumbup:

Just replace the wire with one 6-8 inches longer so it’s got room to flex when the suspension flexes and the motor torques around. The motor and cradle does move up and down a few inches as the cart drives.
