Shorter Belts and 28 degree driven clutch

Please note.... this mod is for stock engine carts.... make sure what size belt you have before buying one.

A simple belt change will give you loads of pulling power and more controll over your carts speed. Yes just 1" shorter will make a world of difference. Be careful, there have been cases where people have flipped their carts over backwards climbing steep hills while using these belts. The shorter belts will also keep your clutches engaged longer, this helps maintain better throttle response and will also help braking on the downhills.
You would not belive the difference the shorter belt will make. It is by far the single biggest improvement you could ever make, short of swapping in a bigger engine. It will more than make up for any power loss caused by bigger tires.
The shorter belt will not make your engine produce more torque. What it will do is change your starting gear ratio on your CVT. This will let more of the engines power get to the wheels sooner. Its like putting a 4.88 rearend in grandma's old chevy caprice. Even with a 6cyl you can burn the tires off.

There are 2 shorter belts that will work on a 94 - 06 Medalist/txt/workhorse carts.

1st belt is for a Ezgo 89 -91 2cyc cart. Its 41" long, OEM # 22337-G1
At first it will run a little slower but give it some break-in time and you will get back up to speed. This will give you a great low end power for climbing and allow you to maintain your top end speed.

2nd belt is for a Ezgo 1992-1993 2cyc and 1992-1994 4cyc, it is 40 3/4" long, OEM # 27077-G02
This belt is very tight, hard to get on, and needs to run about a week before you can get it off without cutting. It will losen up a little after alot of break-in time. I would say this belt would work the best if you were running in a very wet or muddy place. I had only lost a few mph with this belt after it was broke-in. This belt will make it hard to shift from forward to reverse when stopped on a hill or incline. This problem will diminish over time.

Its very hard to tell the difference between the 2 belts as far as low end power. I will say that the first belt is the one I would use and like best.

For those of you with a 92 - 94, 4 stroke Marathon, GXT804(all years), cart, you will need to use a shorter Yamaha belt .
For the guys that have the 45" belt on the 2 strokes, I was told that the Dayco HP3004 is an inch shorter and would work
The belt for a Polaris atv, Trail Blazer and other models, is the same as the 1" shorter belt used on the txt's, I've been running one for a few years now.

It will be tight but shouldn't be to hard to roll on. after its run for awhile it will get alot easier to get on and off if you need to.
