1995 Medalist weight

Finally getting ready to bring my cart upstate and just want to make sure my ramps can handle the weight of the cart. Anyone have an approximate weight? It has four 12 volt batteries that weigh 65 lbs each for a total of 260 lbs. I think the ramps are rated for a total 1250 lbs for both ramps.

Re: 1995 Medalist weight

The specs for a stock 94-96 Medalist two passenger, no top, series or DCS drive and 18" tall tires, weighs 555lbs without batteries, so that will be 815lbs with your 4 X 12V battery pack.

Then you'll have to add the weight of the bigger tires, baskets and top, plus anything else you can think of. Hopefully it'll add up to less than 1250lbs.

Thanks Johnnie. I have over a 400 lb cushion, so I think I’ll be okay, as long as I don’t get my fat a** on the cart while it’s going on the ramps:lhmo:

I have titan 1250 lb 10’ ramps I use to load my txt. For safety sake I put jack stands under hinged part of ramp. Makes me feel better even know total wt. with me is under 1,000 lbs.fwiw

Thanks for the info. These are the ramps I'm using. They are much shorter, making it a much steeper climb. I think I'm going to rig up something so I can use my winch to pull the cart up the ramps and into the bed of the truck.

DaveTM has a good setup for winching a cart on a truck. Here is a link to a recent thread where loading a cart on a truck was discussed.

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/autos...nsporting.html If you follow the link I posted in post #4, it will take you to another thread where you can see his setup as well as setups from other folks.

1,100 lbs, that's close to the weight limit of my ramps, but that would still put me 150 lbs under the max. I hope my cart doesn't weigh that much, that's too close for comfort.

He has the same cart you do. I would go with a better set of ramps

Best ramps you can buy the better, wish I would have got 12 footers since they will fit in 6’5 bed when folded espeacially if you haul an atv like I do. Longer gives a more controlled ride into bed😊
I took cheap way out since cart has no front winch. In case of battery failure ect.
I have a heavy duty ratchet strap to put between the two tie down hooks in front of truck bed so I can use a come along in emergency. Hope I never have to use it.
Bought my titan ramps off amazon as recommended by member here and had reasonable pricing if that helps
