Marine batteries are not designed for heavy (high amperage) discharge. Also you have only 3 instead of 6 so your capacity is reduced. These are some of the factors leading to short run time and poor performance.

as scotty said you have the wrong batteries in your cart

Re: loosing power

ok
are the batteries new or used ?
are all connections clean and tight ?
this will take a few days to get readings
take readings of battery pack and each battery before charging
charge cart till charger shuts off , this can take up to 16 hours , take voltage reading of the battery pack and each battery
wait 12 hours take voltage reading
24 hours take voltage readings
36 hours take voltage reading
post all readings here

Re: loosing power

It may be that the 8 volt batteries are tractor starting batteries. I've seen a cart with those in it
