vinyl seat adhesive needed.
 

Hi I need an adhesive to reattach the white vinyl seat cusion back into the hard plastic frame. Any ideas on what to use?? Thanks

Wait a minute. you mean the Black plastic back that covers the back of the wood?.. if so, that screws on!

I thought the seat cover vinyl was stapled to the wood frame over the foam padding, and the black cover was bolted over all of this????
Maybe I'm wrong, but I've got a good excuse. I'M OLD!

Thanks guys. The supper 77 will not work in this application. The frame is a narrow abs plastic outer type L system. The thin vinyl cushion just is sitting in this frame and attached with a bead of some kind of adhesive. Almost like a caulk bead. The bead is opaque brown and still stuck to the vinyl seat. it has detached from the abs frame. I need a caulk type of adhesive that will attach itself to vinyl and to hard plastic. I can squeeze in a bead of adhesive in the frame and push the vinyl seat into the bead. hold it in place with weights until it drys. Thats the situation. Any ideas on what type of adhesive type material to use. The frame is not a large flat system. It is a narrow outer perimeter support system. vinyl only has about 1 inch of lip around the outer edge. how about contact cement ,or constuction adhesive?

There are many all weather silicone or latex base caulkings specifically designed for door and window applications out there at the home depot etc. But what these guys are telling you is that what you are describing is unusual. Normally the plastic back is simply sandwiched between the seat cushion backing board and the frame with the bolts?

Thank you guys for all the good ideas. I think I fixed the prblem. The seat may be unusual, I do not know. The foam with viyl covering is just glued into a pvc frame. I went to NAPA, They did sell the 3m super 77 spray adhesive, which in this case does not work. But they sell a tube of 3M weatherstripping and gasket sealling material. It worked fine. So Far. Its like a thick contact cement. Bonded to both well. We shall see. I glued it , clamped it, put weights on it, and it seems to work. Thanks again for all your help. Michael
