Electric motor removal

I’ve been having a tough time removing the motor off a 2004 Precedent. Removed the 4 external bolts, seems stuck on the spline so I removed the motor can to take a better look. Don’t see any screws or bolts holding it down on the spline. Do I need to just give it more elbow grease? Seems stuck on that spline.

They can build up rust and stick together. There are many posts about it. Good luck!

It can be horrible sometimes. You may end up having to remove the rear end, flip a brake drum around, and drop it to let the armature’s weight remove itself. I had one where that didn’t even work.

I did go back a bit and found Tahoe’s post. Same way you’re mentioning. I’ll try that tonight and see how it goes. I hope to have good news for all tomorrow. Thanks

Hope it comes off. Does it turn freely? It should. Has the cart been in a moist place? That often makes it more difficult.

I live in Hawaii where moisture is definitely present. I sprayed some Kroil on it last night. Crossing fingers.

I beat mine with a mallet then had to use 2 pry bars on opposite ends to work it out.
