Alltrax failure lots of smoke

1 Attachment(s)
So i finally got it all wired up and put back together. When i went to give it gas it hesitated I put it in reverse then it took off burning the tires right through the garage door. What a mess. So i pulled it back apart and this is what I found see on the right the diode wire burnt up but there was a lot of smoke what do you think all got damaged. This was definitely a mistake my garage door is beond repair *** and there is 2 of them so it looks like i will be buying 2 doors to make them match. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...1&d=1533791404

K i see i have it on backwards can someone tell me where i can get a new one ASAP so i can see if i did more damage than just the diode. I still can not believe how the cart took off wide open. Wane Dalton doors are not cheap. Thanks PS is this something i can get at my local electrical store.

Diode was backwards, stripe should be on the hot side as noted in the responses in your various other threads.

How on earth is you garage door fubar from a cooked diode hooked up wrong?

Your cart should run fine without it too, just don’t shut the key off in regen.

Both diodes are on backwards.

Are you sure the small one is backwards it looks like the stripe is towards the positive

And out of curiosity, why do you constantly start multiple threads on the same topic? If you are trying to bump your post count there is a specific thread already for that.

Yes, keep all your threads together on the same topic so everyone trying to help can get all the facts in ONE place.

As mentioned by E36, your diode is definitely backwards but that doesn't explain why your cart took off at WOT.

For safety reasons, it's best to ALWAYS check you work with 1 wheel off the ground to avoid $$$costly$$$ instances like you experienced.

Good news is, the Alltrax has reverse polarity protection so it should be fine.

Sorry about all the threads so I removed the large diode reconnected batteries it was clicking real fast and and moving slowly. Then I switched the position of the small diode 180deg now I got nothing.

Just trying **** like flipping a diode is not the right way to do electrical work.
It sounds like this cart should be put in the hands of somebody who can read a wire diagram.
You can remove the small solenoid diode and see if the solenoid clicks when you press the gas WITH THE CART ON JACK STANDS
If no click the MCOR micro switch may be burnt out now.

I'm curious how the cart took off full throttle? Can you verify the year and drive system of this cart? IQ?
What is the blink code when the gas is pressed and the solenoid just clicks? this green blink code will indicate the throttle setting.

Ok the cart seems to be running fine now way more torque. The only problem I have now is the headlights and tail lights not working. I have power at the fuse. I know this cart has a voltage reducer. Any ideas. I don’t think there is power coming out of the reducer there is a fuse there which checked good so I got power to the first fuse in the bucket harness but no power coming out I think I smoked the reducer. There is no power at the USB ports either. I can get another reducer but will it pop also am I wired wrong why didn’t the fuse blow.
