Front wheel rim rubbing on leaf spring
2 Attachment(s)
I have a 2002 DS and I heard a rubbing sound yesterday. When I looked at the front wheels I noticed that there is no clearance between the bottom of the leaf spring and the wheel rim on the front drivers side.. The wheel on the other side has about 1/4in clearance. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bill in The Villages FL |

Sounds like you may have had a bolt come lose somewhere or camber is way off. Pictures help.

Check your wheel bearings.

Re: Front wheel rim rubbing on leaf spring
bushing look blown out. That could cause it to drop a little and rub.
maybe? |
Re: Front wheel rim rubbing on leaf spring
Could be both suggestions but it also looks like the spring eye bushings are toast.

I would bet spring bushings also.

Yup, that's the bushing. Do both sides while your at it. Other side has got to be close as well

Thanks for the advice. I just ordered a new bushing kit on Amazon.

Re: Front wheel rim rubbing on leaf spring
Had this exact problem and it turned out to be a loose bolt on the suspension. You might want to check.

Re: Front wheel rim rubbing on leaf spring
Thanks, I'll check all of the nuts and bolts when I change the bushings.
