Battery Gauge Question

I think i was better off not knowing the status of charge....The last few evenings i went for a ride and the solid yellow came on rather quickly...20 mins or less....got home put the multi tester on the pack and i was reading 37.9 they are U.S. 2200 and bought new in June of 2018...These led meters are known to be junk? 37.9 is till a good charge? thanks, Jeff

Re: Battery Gauge Question

Yep, if it has yellow LEDs in it, it might be even worse than the legit "Curtis 10 led" meter. Got what ya paid for.

Re: Battery Gauge Question

Just get a digital voltage meter and forget about any type of bar graph meter.

37.9 is around 90%, but that's not quite right either. Batteries need to recover after use, so an hour or so should be more accurate. Batteries also need to rest 12 hours or more after charging, to get a good SoC.

Re: Battery Gauge Question

Thanks Guys.....Nice to read some comments and advice...I took the charger off last night...I watched the charger get up to 45 volts...Disconnected at around 10 pm ( it was solid green) so i checked this morning and the pack was 38.2 and each battery was 6.38 and one was a little higher @ 6.41....I ordered the voltage meter from Scotty before i went to bed...Can i use the switch leg of the ignition switch as the positive connection on the new meter? It looks like its a 2 wire gauge....thanks, it's a relief to know the batteries are good and the meter was junk.....Jeff

Re: Battery Gauge Question

Why did you stop the charger. You need to let the charger turn off by it's self. US batteries need to charger higher than any other brand of batteries. Your charger profile needs to be set to US batteries? You never did say what cart or the drive system

Why wouldn't you let the charger turn off automatically?

It helps us when you're more specific on what is turning solid yellow and solid green. We understand now, I think.
