2005 Precedent right rear brake light

There have ben several posts, but no seeming resolution. I purchased a new light to replace my right rear brake light, and it still does not work. The light works when lights are on, and the left brake light works but the right does not. Brake light switch seems OK, there is perfect operation for the left light.
I am a non techie, and maybe the wires are crossed. There are three wires, black brown and red. Which one goes where? There are three ports on the connector, one of them has the flat bottom, lets say that is on the right, position 1. What colors go to each position?

Please help a novice get his brake lights working!

Most combo using turn signal-lights-turn kits for right rear use following wiring for ground ( BLACK ), tail light ( RED ), stop-turn light wires ( BROWN ). If this combo does not work using a volt-amp-ohm meter check as one lead will be metal base ground and then its only a matter of isolating stop and tail.
