lights blowing fuse
Hello all . I have a 2002 ez go gas and just installed a light kit. I removed the switch and hooked up to an ignition switch with lights position. Fuse block is connected to the solenoid. When i start the cart and turn on the lights the 7 amp fuse by the solenoid blows after about 20 seconds. Any ideas what i did wrong ?

Re: lights blowing fuse
For it to be only a 7amp, but it takes about 20 seconds to blow....Doesn't sound like a short to ground or it would pop the fuse instantly. Go over all the connections again. And if you have to, hook the kit directly to the pos. and neg. on the battery. Just to try it. Also is the fuse block hooked to the battery side of the solenoid or the cart side?

Mike is right. The diagram shows the stock acc. kit (horn flashers and headlights) all go through a fuse block that is wired directly from the battery. Your lights should have a 15 amp fuse in the fuse block between the battery and the key switch. That's the ezgo info. If yours is aftermarket the fuse size may vary w/light wattage.

Re: lights blowing fuse
I wired the fuse block from the blue wire side of the solenoid. my thought was that nothing would be left on if i forgot to turn the key off. Maybe i will just have to wire the fuse block directly to the battery and try to remember to turn the key off .Iam old though.

Re: lights blowing fuse
You could also use a relay hooked to the switch to control the lights then they will turn off with the key.

A 7 amp fuse does'nt sound big enough to me.
